Visit to Sri Lankan Partners
The IBRN are pleased to be working with Sri Lanka as part of new funding awarded to Dr Jack Denny from the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) and the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF).
The project titled "Opportunities for improving preparedness and resilience to urban explosive violence", will work with Sri Lanka to explore the engineering and health challenges associated with urban explosive violence with a particular focus on the attacks that occurred in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday 2019. The multidisciplinary team includes colleagues from the University of Southampton, University of Liverpool, University of Colombo, Action on Armed Violence, Save The Children and clinicians directly involved in the recent recovery efforts.
Jack said βit was great to meet my Sri Lankan collaborators in Colombo this week and I look forward to working with them over the next year on such a timely and important topic.β
